iPod No Longer Cool - Report

A report from Zandl has said that the iPod is no longer cool. Apparently the iPod has seen falling sales for two consequtive quarters - something Apple musn't be too happy about.

But why are people not happy with the iPod any more? Well common complaints include locked-down AAC tracks from the iTunes music store, batteries that you can't replace and saturation of the market. Carla Avrunch from the trend-forecaster Zandl group commented "Some backlash is against the ubiquity of the iPod - everyone has white headphones on the train".

A very small sample (2 people) from a BBC report tries to show something different (unlike the BBC to not show the full picture?) But I am a personification of the Zandl report - I won't have an iPod because everyone else has one. When the new Microsoft Zune MP3 Player comes out I'll probably get one of them just to see.

Also there are so many mp3 phones on the market now, so why would you want another device? Well that's open to debate.
